Smoked Melrose Apple & Sage Sausages — A True Taste of the Orchard
Handmade in small batches at Applecross Farm, our Smoked Melrose Apple & Sage Sausages are a celebration of everything we’ve grown and cared for over generations. Made with woodland-raised pigs reared locally to our farm, these sausages bring together the finest ingredients from our orchards and gardens for something truly special.
We blend our own herbs and spices by hand, adding fresh sage from our garden and the beautifully fragrant Melrose apples grown in our orchard. To capture the full flavour of the season, we also mix in our own Applecross apple juice and orchard cider, giving these sausages a gentle sweetness and a deep, apple-rich warmth that perfectly complements the pork.
Each batch is then naturally smoked over apple wood from the same orchards, creating a subtle, smoky balance that’s as comforting as it is distinctive. Entirely nitrate-free, dairy-free, and gluten-free, they’re smoked to an internal temperature of 72°C, so they’re fully cooked and ready to enjoy — just re-warm in a pan, under the grill, or over the coals.
All orders are delivered frozen via next-day courier, carefully packed in eco-insulated sheep’s wool liners and recyclable cardboard boxes, keeping everything perfectly chilled from our farm to your table.
As fifth-generation apple growers, being able to bring our own apples into these sausages — from fruit to smoke — feels like closing the loop on something truly meaningful.
